0Jon Modica and Strapless Riding Get Some Great Exposure in SBC Kiteboard’s Spring 2009 Issue
Lose The Straps own forum moderator, contributor, and all around strapless super star got some great and much deserved exposure in the Spring 2009 Issue of SBC Kiteboarding. I have known Jon for a number of years, and if you have never had the pleasure of watching this guy ride he is worth the price of admission. Jon absolutely kills it in all facets of riding, but he really excels in strapless riding be it in flat water or surf. The guy is always innovating and pushing the boundaries of what is thought to have been previously impossible. He is also one of the nicest, and most approachable pros you will ever meet. He is always happy to answer a question, talk to a complete stranger about his gear, or give some pointers for your next session. The guy is really a rock star. When Jon won the 2008 Triple S Surf Division last year I think people really started to take notice of Jon and his skill level. He has been relatively unknown in the US for a long time, and partially that is due to the fact that he is so laid back and does not have a mega ego personality. However, I think Jon’s days of going relatively unknown are over, and he is now sure to be recognized as one of the US’s best kitesurfing superstars. If you get the chance to pick up a copy of the Spring Issue of SBC Kiteboarding you can read it all, or visit their site at SBC Kiteboard.com
Jon Bryja the editor of SBC Kiteboarding is also a big supporter of strapless riding and recognizes it as another aspect of our sport that is up and coming. He was an early adopter of promoting the strapless scene and is a super cool guy. Please help support his magazine by subscribing to it.
